Here for you

Hi

Wow, time sure is flying. My boys are almost half way through their first term at school.

I'm not one for wishing time away but I am certainly grateful at the moment that it is whizzing by so fast as I am just hanging out for the end of our wet season. It sure seems to have been a much wetter season.

But on the upside, I have managed to do a bit more crafting which is always a good thing.

I made this card to add to my stash.

I'm trying to make use of the ever growing stash of DP scraps that I have and to also use a few stamps that have been neglected for a while now.

DP is from Stampin Up and the image is from an SU set called Asian Artistry.

Thanks for stopping by today

Mad For Markers - Crazy Hair Colouring

Hi

I have had the chance this week to get in to my craftroom and make a few cards for upcoming DT posts which you will see in the next few days. It is so nice to finally get back in to the swing of things.

I did my second day of my new job yesterday and I am LOVING IT!

The current challenge over at Mad For Markers still has a few days to go. There have been lots of fabulous entries. So much fun to see the different crazy hair colours people are coming up with.

For my card today I have kept it pretty tame by just adding some pink streaks in the hair. I quite like the look I have to say. I think if my hair was straight ( my hair is very curly and this time of year it is pretty much just a fuzz ball, got to hate the humidity!) I would definitely go with pink streaks.

I have used an image from Kenny K called "Wasn't Me".

I must have had my head on crooked when I made this card, cause I can plainly see now that the centre strip is definitely not straight.

There are still a few days to go with the current challenge so get your Copic Markers out and colour yourself up some fun with crazy hair colours and get it submitted over at the Mad For Markers Challenge Blog. I'd love to see what you come up with.

While you are at it hop on over to the Mad For Markers store and check out the new arrivals.

The Mad for Markers Store now is now stocking 'The Greeting Farm Stamps' and coming soon "La-La Land  Crafts Stamps!!

For all your Copic and related supplies head on over to Mad For Markers online store.
Mad For Markers post to Australia and New Zealand and stock a large range of Copic Markers, Blending Card, Masking Paper etc.

You can also check out the store blog and challenge blog for tips, tutorials and inspiration.

Finally

Hi

I have been saying for ages now that I really should get my sewing machine down and dust it off and try to learn how to use it. I see so many beautiful cards out there with real stitching and I just love the way they look.

Well, finally I have managed to give it a go.

Now be kind, this is my first attempt. Well, when I say first attempt, this is the first finished card. I did like a million practice runs on scraps of cardstock before I finally figured it out and got the tension right etc. It took quite a while and I'm proud to say I did it without teaching my boys any "bad words" to take to school in a couple of weeks, lol.

I used the "Whimsical Garden" set from Stampin' Up! and the Papers are SU as well.

I'm really happy with how this card turned out.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look today.

A little Petal Pizzaz

Hi there!

Gee, I don't think I have posted this many days in a row............ever!

My mojo must be running hot, lol.

For my card today I have used the Stampin' Up! set Petal Pizzaz to create this pretty 3D flower.

I really love how this flower turned out. I can see me making more of these for sure.

I gave the flower a spritz of glimmer mist and nearly ruined it as the ink started to bleed a little.

Thanks for stopping by today to take a look.

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #18 - Don't Be Square and a COMPETITION

.

Hi everyone I hope you have all had a fabulous week.

It's Sunday again so that means it's time for another Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge.

This week Team A are on the job and the challenge is - Don't Be Square

Kenny also has a competition running to Name his new images - more of that in a bit.

I decided to play along with Kenny's challenge this week to create a card that wasn't square. My card started out as one of those spring cards but I decorated the diamond too heavily and it wouldn't stand up so I decided to "modify" it.

Here's what I ended up with

Image is "Miss Thang" from Kenny K

There is a space to write your message on the back and you could wrap a small gift to place inside .

or you could just fold it down flat to put in a standard 15cm x 15cm square envelope.

Now head on over to Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge Blog and check out Team A's incredibly creative work and get all inspired to make your own card to enter the challenge. Remember to be in the running to win the free digis you need to use one of Kenny's images.

Now, on to the Competition Kenny has running.

NAME THOSE KITTENZ

Kenny's has some new exciting ( if a little bit naughty lol) images but they need a name.

Kenny will be choosing the names he likes best and there will be 12 winners. Yes that's right, 12 chances to win. What's the prize you ask????

Each winner will win the Krash Kitten that they've named plus an additional two digi images of their choice.

Head on over to Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge Blog for more details.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Sunny Day Flower

.
Hi

Just a simple little card today.

I recently stumbled across some really gorgeous digital images by Meljen's Designs over at Whimsy Stamps and I sat down last night and coloured up this sweet little flower called "Sunny Day Flower".

I just love this flower, it is just so bright and happy!

I printed it twice and coloured the face and first row of petals on the second image and cut it out and popped it up on top the first image with dimentionals.

I don't have any green Copics yet so I used blue and yellow to colour the leaves. I love the way you can mix colours with Copics.

I'm linking this card to the following challenges:

Mad For Markers - Colour in a digital image with your Copics
Pollycraft Monday Challenge - No Designer Paper
Creative Card Crew - Flowers
Allsorts - Plain and Simple

Copics used to colour this image:
Leaves - B93 and Y13
Petals - R85, R83 and R81
Face - YR68,YR65, and YR61
Shading - Y11

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful day.

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #10 - Embossing

.
Hi

Woo Hoo, challenge time again over at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge blog. Team A is on the job this week and the challenge is - Embossing.

So many fabulous entries again last week. Glad its not up to me to pick the winners!!

Kenny's images are just so much fun to colour up I just couldn't resist playing along this week.

For my card I have used "Vikki Lee Vicious".

Flowers are coloured with copics and I have used a silver embossing powder for the flourishes. Silver brads are in the centre of the flowers as well as on the turned corners.

Even though I am still learning how to colour with the black and gray Copics I am really happy with how this card turned out.

Head on over to Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge Blog and see Team A's gorgeous cards for some awesome inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dusting Off Tilda

.
Hi

A while ago I was so excited to get my very first Tilda stamp. I had been wanting her for so long. I barely got in the door before I was tearing open the envelope and racing down to my craftroom to ink her up.

Well, since then of course other things have come up, new images to play with etc etc and poor Tilda has been sitting there on my stamp shelf looking all forlorn wondering why I dont love her anymore............. Please tell me I'm not the only one guilty of this kind of neglectfulness.

I do of course, still love her that is. What is there not to love about the super sweet Tilda images after all.

I decided to show her a little love today and came up with this friendship card.

Tilda is coloured with Copics as are the flowers. I also gave the flowers a spritz of Glimmer Mist.

Papers are all from Stampin Up! (retired now I believe).

I am linking my card up with the following challenges:

I also want to remind you all that you still have a few days to link up your creations to my new weekly Linky Party "Make It Monday".

This is not a challenge, there is no theme to follow, simply link up your creation be it a card, scrapbook page or altered item, anything really. It doesn't even need to be a new creation. Want to revive and old post from way back? Then link it up so everyone can come on over and check it out.

You can submit as many creations as you like. It's all about sharing the creativity and inspiring others.

Just remember to Link back to the actual post not just your general blog link and also add a link back to here so others can join in the fun.

Click here to submit your creation.

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Of course I couldn't help but play along too this week so here is my take on Donna's sketch.

I know!! Don't fall over hey, there is NO PINK on this card!!

I have used Kenny's image "Devilish Donna" and coloured her with Copics. The straps on the boots were white too but when I went over the boots with Glossy Accents (same as Crystal Effects) they kind of went all gray looking :-(see bottom of post for card recipe).

I have really enjoyed checking out the amazing cards that were submitted in last weeks challenge ( it is so great to see so many of you coming back to play each week) and I can't wait to see what you all come up with this time with Donna's sketch.

You have a whole week to make your fabulous card and link it up on Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge Blog.

As always there are prizes of Kenny's images up for grabs but you have to use one of Kenny's images to be in the running so what are you waiting for!!

In the Summer Time - Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #5

.
Hi, nice to have you stop by today.

It's Sunday AGAIN! But let's not get hung up on how fast this year is disapearing, instead let's focus on the exciting news that it's challenge time again over at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz.

We had a fantastic number of entries in last week's challenge. It is so great to see so many of you joining in the fun each week. Believe me once you start playing with Kenny's fabulous images it's hard to stop.

Team A are on the job this week and they have a fun theme for you of "In The Summer Time". So let your imaginations run wild and choose your favourite Kenny K image and get started.

I have used "Download Diva" for my card.

My supplies are running low and I'm on a self imposed "no spend" month at the moment so I decided to create my own designer paper for the background using Stampin Up! So Safron Card stock and Cameo Coral ink ( I think) and SU Vintage Vogue stamp set.

Kenny K's "Download Diva" image is coloured with a mix of Copics and Water Colour Crayons.

The Design Team have come up with some absolutely amazing cards to inspire you this week so pop on over the Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge Blog to check them out for some inspiration. Then get creating and link your card up. There are prizes up for grabs (Kenny K images) so you have to be in it to win it as they say.

Thanks for stopping by.

50th Birthday

Hi

I've been a bad blogger again, it's been a while since I've had time to visit all my favourite blogs. So many things taking priority over my crafting time. But I will pop by soon to check out what you have all been up to.

I received an email from a friend late last night with a request for a large 50th birthday card for a lady asap. So I grabbed the Stampin Up - Cottage Wall - designer paper that was still on my desk from a card  I created a week or so ago. and came up with this A5 size top fold card.

Because the card was to be signed by a group of people I decorated the top and bottom of the inside of the card too.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope to be visiting your blog soon.

Michelle

Tennis anyone?

.
Hi

Not a lot of crafting going on here for me this week as the boys are back at school an that means I spend a good percentage of my day in the car! But I do have a card for you today using another fabulous image from Kenny K. This one called "Tennis" is available now over at his Digi Store.

I have used a flower stamp from Stampin Ups Flower Fancy set to stamp So Safron cardstock with So Safron ink (both from SU) to create the background. Designer papers are also from SU.

I have used the following Copics to colour the image

Hair - E29, E25 and E53
Skin - E11, E00, E000 and R20
Clothes - R85, R83 and R81

Scollop circle was cut on the Big Shot and I dotted around the edge with rhinestones.

You still have plenty of time to join in the fun over at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz challenge blog. Hop on over there and check out all the amazing cards.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Queens Cutie

.
Hi

I hope those of you celebrating the 4th July this weekend are having a wonderful time with family and friends.

I can't help myself, ever since being asked to join the Kenny K's Krafty Girlz design team I haven't stopped colouring the fab new images.

Kenny has a new freebie available this month over at his digi shop KennyKdownloads.com so hop on over and grab it for yourself and join in the fun. The new challenge begins on July11th.

I know, I know, I really need to start stretching myself a bit more. I use way too much pink, but I just can't help it. I did try for a few days there to make a few masculine cards but very quickly slipped back in to my all time favourite pink and girly cards.

I coloured this fabulous image (Queens Cutie) up first with my copics and then realised that I didn't have the papers to co-ordinate with it. So I decided to make up some papers of my own.

I made the floral paper by stamping Stampin Ups A Rose Is A Rose on Very Vanilla cardstock with Pretty In Pink ink.

For the striped paper I used Very Vanilla cardstock again and used E25 and R83 Copics to create the pattern.

I also had a try at making my own paper flowers for this card too. There are so many great tutorials out there for making these wonderful flowers. I have a set of three scollop circle punches that I used to create these flowers. It was so easy and I'm really happy with how they turned out.

I cut out the coloured image and sat it on top of two nesting ovals and then adhered that on top of an embossed panel of Pretty In Pink carstock. I used my Stampin Up Eyelet Border punch to create the decorative corners.

Copics  I used on this image are:

Hair - E29,E25 and E53
Skin - E000, E00, E11 and R20
Clothes and shoes - R85, R83, R81, E29, E25 and E53

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Happy 4th July!

Michelle
